How to assemble a Mini BMX Bike

If you have any questions, contact us at wildcat@wildcatbikes.com.au. Your bike comes 90% assembled and boxed at the factory for shipment.

    1) Screw in the pedals. There is a right and left pedal marked R and L on the threaded end. (Right and Left when looking from the rear of the bike). The left pedal has an anti clockwise thread and the right pedal a clockwise thread. Be careful not to cross thread and strip out the crank arm.

    2) Clamp and center the handlebar into the stem clamp. Tighten all bolts evenly. Check and tighten the allen head screw at the top of the headset.

    3) Insert seat-post into seat tube and tighten seat clamp at the desired height.

    4) Be sure that any nuts or bolts that may have come loose during shipping are firm. It is also good policy to make sure your bike is properly adjusted prior to every ride.

    5) Recommended tyre pressure for general riding is between 30 and 40 psi depending on the weight of the rider.

Some tyres will have written on them a maximum of 65 psi, and whilst the tyres are strong enough to handle this pressure, we recommend that you only inflate them to 40psi.

    6) Now get out there and shred!

Recommended tyre pressure for general riding is between 30 and 40 psi depending on the weight of the rider.

Some tyres will have a maximum of 65 psi, whilst the tires are strong enough to handle this pressure, most riders will only need them inflated to 40psi.

Wildcat Mini BMX is the only bmx mini with disc brakes.

Disc Brakes work so much better on the Fat Tire as the caliper brake seen on Fatboy Mini and Rocker Mini's struggle to safely stop a bike because of the fat tire.

If you are trying to adjust the disc brakes, click to view the instructions that will help you get the most out of your Mini BMX.

To install the Gyro Kit, follow these instructions:

Ensure that the threaded portion of the upper adjusting barrel is flush with or slightly protrudes through the bottom of the upper cable stop. Ensure that the threaded portion of the lower adjusting barrel is flush with or slightly protrudes through the top of the lower cable stop.

Attach the upper cable to the brake lever.

Ensure that the adjusting barrel is fully tightened in the brake lever.

Pull the link wire on the rear brake assembly until the brake shoes are touching the rim wall and tighten the brake bolt.

The lower cable tension should be tight.

Ensure that the brake shoes are positioned as per the diagram.

Adjust the tension on the upper cable at the Y junction to ensure that there is sufficient tension on the cable stops to keep the cable ends in place in the rotor unit.

Instructions for changing the tyre on a Hi-Ten wheel

    Important - deflate tyre

If disc brake is present, using a long screwdriver or similar - lever the disc anti-clockwise against hub to get started winding it off

Undo the 5 x eye-bolts holding the hub half together (5mm hex one side, hub tool the other but sometimes not required. A super wide flat head screwdriver also works)

Pull out the non-fixed side of the hub (opposite side to driver) and you should be able to get the tyre off.

Swap tube to new tyre ensuring tread direction is correct

    Re-assemble

Please check and adjust lock-rings, cranks, pedals etc before and after every ride.

All surfaces should be wiped down with CRC or similar to prevent corrosion particularly if the paint or coatings become scratched.

Alternatively surfaces can be sprayed with a clear coat for protection.

The driver on the rear wheel should be sprayed well with CRC on a monthly basis.

Stripped threads, etc due to parts not being tightened may not be covered by warranty.

Please see below for the instructions on how to install the Wildcat Pro Pegs on your Mini BMX.

You may need to use a spark plug extension socket to tighten the nut.

    Specifications

Many people wonder how much weight will a Mini BMX hold?

A Wildcat one piece crank Mini BMX - or an A series - has been tested up to 100kg, however we recommend these bikes for people up to 80kg.

The three piece crank Wildcat Mini's - or a Pro Series - have been tested on riders up to 120kg, however we recommend them for riders up to 100kg if you are going to be using them at skateparks and doing big airs.

Mini BMX bikes can really range in weight.

Keep in mind, the heavier it is, the harder it is to ride.

Wildcat Mini BMX have the lightest Mini BMX's on the market, with the Wildcat Mini Pro Series coming in at 8.9kg.

Wildcat has replaced the 'Clunky' steel cart wheels found on all other Mini BMX bikes for either the Turbo Wheel (on the Pro Series) or the Cross Wheel Set (on the OG3A series).

These Nylon and Aluminium wheels make them stronger, truer and lighter - avoiding many of the pitfalls that people find with cart wheels.

Why shred on an inferior bike when you can shred on a Wildcat.

Wildcat Mini BMX Bikes are made for people aged 4-40.

Children as young as 3 1/2 or 4 can ride a Wildcat Mini BMX - some parents will even add training wheels on the bikes until their child can ride confidently on their own.

And adults up to to 40 or 50 years old can also ride.

Age is no barrier to riding a Wildcat mini bmx bike.

Wildcat BMX mini bikes are specially designed for both kids and adult to shred to their hearts content!

Wildcat is the world leader in Mini BMX development. We pioneered the Disc Brake to make stopping easier for those wanting to be able to control their Mini BMX more effectively.

Some Mini's come with a calliper brake, however due to the 'fatness' of the wheel, these brakes have a limited braking ability.

We used to use calliper brakes, but developed the disc brake to make it more effective, and ultimately safer.

Mini Rockers, or Mini BMX bikes as they really are, do not all have brakes.

Most brands use an inferior Calliper brake which really struggles to grip the tire and stop the bike from rolling.

Wildcat Mini BMX is the only brand to develop a Disc Brake which can be found on all Wildcat Mini Bikes at https://wildcatbikes.com.

We include brakes to make them safer for all riders.

    Ultimately, it's about quality.

Many department store bikes and other brands you see are made from inferior materials - some even have plastic or cart wheels. And a dead giveaway is to look at the welds.

Also, almost all Mini BMX bikes, except for Wildcat come out of the same factory. They are mass produced and have an inferior build.

We are the first full strength Mini BMX with 100% specialized design and true BMX bloodline characteristics across the full range.

Many have commented that our bikes are priced similar to 20" BMX's - well, that's because the parts used on a Wildcat have the same characteristics as 20" BMX bikes.

We currently have 2 series of Wildcat BMX to allow you to purchase a lower spec bike at a cheaper price, but for the true professional and stunt rider, we have developed the Pro Series to help you bomb even harder.

Wildcat continually develop the brand to make it lighter and stronger.

The Wildcat Brand has been around since 2015, when it was born in Spain.

However, our MiniBMX factory began producing parts in 2012 for ODM during the initial explosion of the sport. With a professional team of researchers and developers working alongside the REDBULL riders, WILDCAT successfully developed the first generation of ORIGINAL Mini BMX, the first full strength Mini BMX with 100% specialized design and true BMX bloodline characteristics across their full range.

Wildcat then launched in Australia in 2015, and New Zealand in 2017 and 2019 in the USA.

    Timeline of the Wildcat

To this day Wildcat is the ONLY true Mini BMX brand (to our knowledge!) that owns and operates their own production lines. This allows constant evolution and innovation of their offering, keeping Wildcat well ahead of the competition.

2015 - Wildcat successfully designed and developed professional accessories compatible with full size freestyle BMX use, standards of production and specialized processes.

2016 - Wildcat developed new lighter, stronger and truer heat treated wheel hubs, replacing the inferior cart style wheel still used by some brands today... Also the CNC9t driver and the integrated CNC steering tube.

2017 - Wildcat developed a specialized removable disk brake system.

2018 - the new generation and worlds first aluminium alloy MiniBMX frame was successfully developed alongside the new Turbo wheel. Total bike weight has been reduced to just over 7kg making this the lightest and strongest MiniBMX in existence by a long shot. The new design is an astonishing 3kg lighter than its predecessor.

2019 - Wildcat launches in the USA after incredible demand and request. Along the launch in the USA comes the brand new Pro Series - taking Wildcat to a whole new level of ride.

2022 - Wildcat launches the OG Series and the OG Pro Series - taking things even further than anyone has done before.
